Nepalese doc billed to inject hopes onto childless couples

GOOD NEWS is on the horizon for couples who had for a long time been haunted by inability to have babies, in the wake of a working tour in Dar es Salaam next month, of an eminent specialist from Nepal, Dr Jagat Deep.

The bearer of the news, Sanitas Hospital Chief Executive Officer Murthy Venkateswaran, said in Dar es Salaam yesterday, that Dr Deep would bring with him a wealth of experience, including attending complicated cases for women unable to have babies of their own.

“Through Dr Deep, Sanitas Hospital will offer the couples a technique that is far more successful than In Vitro Fertilization (IVF); far less painful and far less expensive,” he said.

IVF is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish.

The Sanitas CEO said inability to have a child can wreak havoc in a couple’s marriage and generate immense sadness and disappointment to their lives.

According to Mr Murthy, the technique is to take the sperm from the husband (regardless of motility and sperm count) and insert it directly into the egg of his spouse at the right stage of her menstrual cycle.

“One Sanitas Hospital staff member benefited from this remarkable procedure. She and her husband had been married for over eight years and were not able to have a child, despite having tried all methods available to science and tradition.

They had the procedure done and today, they have a one-year old healthy baby girl,” he explained.

He explained further that, Dr Deep will be available for consultation at Sanitas Hospital on the 6th, 7th and 8th August 2017, and will be offering his most valuable service to women who are unable to have a child of their own, adding that through Dr Jagat, Sanitas Hospital offers hope to most of them.
